Post-Operative Care Instructions:Transconjunctival Lower Blepharoplasty with Fat Repositioning

- Oral Medication: Take your oral medication 4 times a day for a total of 3 days. Take it after three meals and before bedtime, or evenly spaced every 4–6 hours.
- Wound Care for Fat Fixation: Clean the wound once daily. Use a cotton swab dipped in normal saline to gently wipe away any blood spots using a rolling motion. Afterward, cover the wound with flesh-colored hydrocolloid dressing (artificial skin). If any bleeding occurs, apply direct pressure immediately until it stops.
- Internal Eyelid Wound & Eye Drops:
* You may gently rinse internal eyelid wounds with normal saline, then apply eye drops at the scheduled times and eye ointment before bedtime.
* **Medication Instructions:**

- Cold & Warm Compresses: Apply cold compresses to the wound for the first 3 days, 10–15 minutes per hour. After 3 days, you may switch to warm compresses, 10–15 minutes each time.
- Diet & Lifestyle:
* The sutures for fat fixation will be removed around the 4th to 5th day post-op.
* For the first 2 weeks, maintain a light, low-sodium diet and consume more nutrient-rich, high-protein foods to promote wound healing.
* Avoid smoking (including secondhand smoke), drinking alcohol, and consuming spicy or irritating foods. Seafood and tonic foods (herbal supplements) should also be avoided as much as possible.
- Preventing Swelling: To prevent eyelid swelling, try to minimize water intake right before bedtime. When resting, try to keep a semi-recumbent posture or elevate your head.
- Normal Symptoms vs. Warning Signs:
* Minor oozing and conjunctival edema (swelling of the membrane) after surgery are completely normal.
* If you experience any abnormal bleeding, severe swelling, or other unusual symptoms around the wound or eyes, please call us immediately to schedule a follow-up visit for further examination and treatment.
- Temporary Visual Symptoms: Some individuals may experience temporary blurred vision, double vision, watery eyes, or injection/redness in the eyes for a few days after surgery. This is a normal, temporary phenomenon caused by the shifting and swelling of moved fat, and it usually returns to normal within about a week.
